Hey there!
My name is Taylor Goad. I am a multimedia artist, graphic designer, and animator from Bel Air, Maryland. I graduated from West Chester University in 2019 with a degree in Graphic and Interactive Design, earning awards for Outstanding Portfolio and Best in Motion Design. In the years that followed, I worked full time as a motion graphics designer before returning to school in 2023 to join the Intermedia and Digital Art (IMDA) MFA program at UMBC.
This culminated in my thesis titled, My Doohd, focusing on navigating illness, identity, and care through a multidisciplinary practice rooted in textiles, graphic design, and installation. The work, largely composed of large, colorful tufted rugs, features a guardian-like character named Doohd to explore the lived realities of inhabiting a sick body. Through humorous, abject forms, the work challenges the sterility of medical spaces and opens conversations around vulnerability and care. While at UMBC I have been teaching undergraduate courses including Drawing 1 and Motion Graphics and Compositing.
In addition to my academic work, I have exhibited at the Sweaty Eyeballs Animation Festival in Baltimore in 2024 and 2025.
